Tribeca comes to Barcelona in Balthazar, a spacious, two-storey eatery in Eixample district. Sleek and somewhat swanky, rich tones of black, chocolate brown and gold predominate in the decor and low lighting provides a discreet, ‘private club’ ambiance. Snow white tablecloths and napkins and striking monochrome wall art lifts the space, as does textured brick feature walls, classical, carved columns and metal, industrial-type beams, balustrades and stairs. Together they create a sophisticated, New York-type mise en scène in uptown Barcelona.
