BIG FISH - SANT GERVASI
Calle Amigo 30, Barcelona.
After the success of the original Big Fish in Barcelona’s El Born district, a second locale was secured in the uptown neighborhood of Sant Gervasi. For this project Rosa Violán has retained some of the features that made the flagship’s interior so accomplished, whilst pairing them down for a much more compact, split-level space. Specializing in seafood, the interior of the restaurant is reminiscent of an old fashioned ship’s cabin, with period maps covering the walls small, ‘diner-type’ tables and brass, bell-shaped wall lights. The original-tiled flooring was retained, and a bright red façade is warm and inviting.
