GRATACOS
Passeig de Gracia 110, Barcelona.
Situated at the northern end of Barcelona’s Passieg de Gràcia, Gratacós is one of the city’s most celebrated shops, and has been retailing in fine fabrics since 1940. For this recent makeover, Rosa-Violán paid homage to the company’s mid-century foundation, whilst adding some striking contemporary elements. The vertical display system, whereby bolts of fabrics are hung from bespoke, ‘pull-out’ hangers, differs from the conventional ‘stacked’ system, and provides a merchandising arrangement that is not only easy to use, but adds yet another point of rich visual interest in the décor.
